I was very happy to receive a submission from Agnieszka Piksa (aka Pixa) this morning. I know her work from long time ago and I always get a feeling of great and unavoidable sadness after see her drawings. The apparent simplicity in her compositions echoes Russian Constructivism for the complex use of the negative spaces and spatial relationships, where nothingness becomes everything.
Hunting with the line and space for unexpected meanings, Pixa takes the drawing to other level where the narrative discourse can be more evident. A sort of storyboard, a time line drawing (Gesammtkunstwerk, perhaps?), her poetry translated into images is a constant language researching for communicate her different moods.
